An interactive game for children and a guided tour enriched by thirteen audio guides to discover the village of Vigoleno and the Stirone Regional Park: these are the novelties that since May 2021 have welcomed visitors to Vigoleno, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, in the province of Piacenza.
The idea of the game and audio-guides was promoted and supported by the Vernasca town council, of which Vigoleno is a hamlet, to allow visitors to explore the village independently, an indispensable condition at a time when crowds are not recommended. All visitors have to do is download the free QuickMuseum app onto their smartphones, search for the village of Vigoleno among the various points of interest on the app, and start the tour or game.
GUIDED TOURS AND AUDIO GUIDES
Using our QuickMuseum app, visitors can choose their preferred route to discover Vigoleno. In fact, the app offers two timed tours, allowing the duration of the visit to be adapted to the user’s needs. After selecting the preferred option, the app builds an itinerary on the map highlighting the various points of interest, each of which corresponds to an audio guide.
Thirteen audio guides tell the story of the village of Vigoleno and, in part, the Stirone Regional Park.
THE GAME
The Dragon and the Sword: this is the name of the game, designed for children, that enriches the tour of Vigoleno and allows young participants to discover curious details about this medieval village. The story is set in 1300, the year of the Universal Jubilee. The player takes on the role of the young Briciola, son of the village innkeeper, who must defend the village from a dark threat: the dragon Tarantasio, who, after a long hibernation, seems to have woken up to wreak death and destruction among the villagers.
The mission is to explore Vigoleno to recover the pieces that make up the sword of St. George, the only weapon that can defeat the dragon. To do so, he must pass ten tests: ten puzzles scattered along a 10-stage route that takes about thirty minutes.
